Emmanuel Ferron

Why do you like sound design?

“Sound is a tool that allows me to connect moments with feelings. The fact that people can have that experience is something amazing, also it gives life to a world that is not real or recreates a past historical moment so the people can live or have fun with a non-realistic story is something that makes this job valuable.”

Why do you like sound design?

“I’m always amazed by the way sound interacts with us. Hearing is the only sense that stays fully active when we sleep, and I believe that has something to do with the many levels sound gets into our brains, from the fully aware and conscious data that we get upfront from words, passing through the infinite emotional states music is capable of create in us, to the subtle and almost imperceptible things we think we ignore in the background noise and the ambience around us. Every single sound in this spectrum has an influence in our lives, and just thinking about harnessing that kind of power through the art of sound design is thrilling enough to dedicate my career to it.”
